In the game *Jo & Rubi: Archaeology at the Harbor*, young players join Jo, a curious child, and Rubi, a little robin, on an exciting journey into the world of archaeology. Together, they discover how real archaeologists work, how finds are carefully uncovered and documented, and what stories lie behind traces of the past.
Through a narratively embedded excavation, children playfully learn what archaeological work truly involves – from gently uncovering artifacts with a trowel to interpreting historical contexts. Curiosity, a spirit of discovery, and teamwork are actively encouraged.
The app is deliberately designed for children and is completely ad-free, with no microtransactions and a child-friendly, accessible design. By combining adventure, puzzles, mini-games, and educational content, it offers a low-threshold introduction to science and history.
*Jo & Rubi: Archaeology at the Harbor* was developed in close collaboration with an archaeologist and a children’s media expert, combining academic accuracy with age-appropriate storytelling and playful learning.
